12. Spider-Man 3 backlash had NOTHING to do with why Spider-Man didn’t happen. PLEASE stop spreading that old, debunked falsehood. The movie was in preproduction for almost 3 years after Spider-Man 3 had been released before it was cancelled. There were multiple script drafts, storyboards; even the game adaptation for Spider-Man 4 had been started!
